Barnhart
to manage construction of elementary school for Alvord Unified
School District
Barnhart, Inc. was awarded a contract to manage construction
of a new $10 million elementary school for the Alvord Unified
School District.
Located
in the Lake Hills area of Riverside, CA, the new school will
begin construction in late 2003 for an early 2005 completion.
Barnhart will assist the district with observation and monitoring
of site preparation by the developer, and will also be involved
in the design phase of the project from concept to construction
documents. Barnhart will bid and manage construction of the
school, overseeing multiple trade contractors. NTD Architects
were contracted to design the project. NTD and Barnhart are
currently working together to complete the $57 million Westview
High school project in Poway, and they successfully completed
Red Hill Elementary School, located in Santa Ana.
The new
facility will be the district's 13th elementary school, joining
Alvord's nineteen other elementary, middle, and high schools
and two service centers. Alvord Unified School District has
been serving the Riverside area since 1896, and is named after
the former mayor of San Francisco, William Alvord, who was
a pioneering land investor in the Riverside area.
