Construction
under way on Poway facility
Ground
has been broken for the new city of Poway office building
and council chambers in Poway. The 55,000-square-foot facility
is scheduled for completion in April 2004. The designer is
Architects McGraw Baldwin. Poway's construction manager
is Douglas E. Barnhart, Inc. The two-phase contract
calls for oversight of completion of the new facility and
subsequent demolition of the existing city hall. Project team
members include Penny Riley, deputy city manager of Poway,and
Brian Cahill, Barbara Welch and Craig Smith from Barnhart.
Philip Page, Kenneth Hess and Jeannette LaQuire represent
the architect. Barnhart also managed Poway's library and sheriff
station projects and was general contractor on the Poway Center
for the Performing Arts.
