Construction
has been completed on Torrey Hills Elementary School for the
Del Mar Union School District (DMUSD). Roesling Nakamura
designed the school and Douglas E. Barnhart,
Inc. managed construction.
The school's
wood framed structures include an administration building,
library, eight classroom buildings, two restroom buildings,
kindergarten area and one extended studies facility, all totaling
54,000 square feet. Construction began in June 2001.
Team
members for the projects design and construction included
Kathy Tanner as facilities director for DMUSD and Ralph Roesling,
partner of Roesling Nakamura Architects. Representatives from
Barnhart included Glynna Hoekstra, construction manager; Kevin
Boland, site supervisor; Jim Fisher, project manager; and
Rosie Montano, project engineer.
