Barnhart Inc. to manage construction of new
Poway City Hall
Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. was selected as construction
manager for Poway's new City Hall and City Council Chambers.
Construction of the 55,000-square-foot facility is scheduled
to begin October 2002 and be completed in April 2004.
The project will be developed in two phases. The scope
of the contract includes overseeing the demolition of the
current City Hall upon completion of the new facility.
Architecture firm McGraw Baldwin designed the project Project
team members include Deputy City Manager Penny Riley and Brian
Cahill, Barbara Welch and Craig Smith from Barnhart Inc.
Team members from McGraw Baldwin include Philip Pape, Kenneth
Hess and Jennett LaQuire. For Poway, Barnhart managed the
library and sheriff station projects. Barnhart is currently
managing construction of a new City Hall and library expansion
for the City of Mission Viejo. Doug Barnhart, CEO of Barnhart
Inc., has made Poway his home for nearly three decades.
COO Tex Barnhart has lived in Poway for more than 10 years.
