Barnhart,
Inc. and Mosher Drew Watson & Ferguson to develop new
parking facility at USD
Design-Build
Parking Structure to be completed in early 2003

Contractor douglas e. barnhart, inc. and architects Mosher
Drew Watson & Ferguson were selected as the design-build
team for the University of San Diego's (USD) newest parking
facility.
The West
Marian Way Parking Structure, located on the south end of
the campus, will measure 230,000 square feet and provide nearly
800 parking stalls for university students, staff and guests.
The four-story structure will feature USD's 16th Century Spanish
Renaissance architecture as well as 1,000 square feet of storage
and an electrical substation. The commuter student parking
lot adjacent to the proposed structure will be fully operational
throughout the nine-month construction duration. The structure
is scheduled for an early 2003 completion.
Team
members include Roger Manion, Scott Gill, and Tom Coffin from
USD; Larry Hoeksema, Don Leonard, and Bill Magnuson from Mosher
Drew Watson & Ferguson; and Tex Barnhart, Brian Cahill,
Clay Maki, Mike Derouin, Ken Bingham, and Lex Economou from
Barnhart.
The design-build
team of Barnhart, Inc., and Mosher Drew Watson & Ferguson
recently completed the Cuicacalli Residential Suites and Dining
Complex for San Diego State University, and are currently
constructing a bachelor enlisted quarters and academy at Camp
Pendleton. Barnhart, Inc. includes the Colachis Plaza and
Fountain and the Build San Diego award-winning Shiley Theater
Renovation in its resume of past projects for USD. Mosher
Drew has an extensive collection of projects designed for
USD, including the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
