Palm Desert
Community Center for Del Webb under construction by douglas
e. barnhart, inc.
Douglas E. Barnhart, Inc., began construction
last month for the Del Webb Community Center in Palm Desert.
The $4
million recreation center measures 16,000 square feet in two
buildings. Amenities include indoor running track, exercise
room, multi-use rooms, locker rooms, and a swimming pool.
The center
was designed by BMG, Inc., of Tucson, Arizona. Construction
of the facility began in November and is scheduled for a Fall
2002 completion.
Team
members include: Bill Inglis, Vice President of Construction
for Del Webb Communities, Inc.; Russell Jones, Project Manager
for Del Webb; Larry Meeks, Vice President, BMG, Inc.; Layne
Arthur, Vice President, Palm Springs Operations, Douglas E.
Barnhart, Inc.; Joanna Heinrich, Project Manager, Barnhart;
and Glen Farlow, Superintendent, Barnhart.
Douglas
E. Barnhart, Inc. has extensive experience constructing athletic
and recreational facilities, including the Desert Willow Golf
Clubhouse of Palm Desert, the Black Gold Clubhouse of Yorba
Linda, City of Coronado Golf Clubhouse, Coronado Cays Yacht
Club, San Diego Chargers Training Facility, and Tony Gwynn
Stadium at San Diego State University.
