Barnhart, Inc. to manage construction of new City
of Poway office building
San
Diego based construction company chosen for phased project
Douglas
E. Barnhart, Inc. was selected as the Construction Manager
for the new City of Poway Office Building and Council Chambers.
The 55,000
square foot facility is set to begin construction in October
2002 and is scheduled to complete in April 2004. The project
will be developed in two phases. Scope of the contract includes
oversight of the demolition of the current City Hall upon
completion of the new facility. Architects McGraw Baldwin
designed the project.
Project
team members include Penny Riley, Deputy City Manager for
Poway, and Brian Cahill, Barbara Welch, and Craig Smith from
Barnhart, Inc. Team members from McGraw Baldwin include Philip
Pape, Kenneth Hess,and Jenette La Quire.
For the
City of Poway, Barnhart managed the Library and Sheriff Station
projects. Barnhart is currently managing construction of a
new City Hall and Library Expansion for the City of Mission
Viejo. CEO of Barnhart, Inc., Doug Barnhart has made Poway
his home for nearly three decades. COO Tex Barnhart has lived
in Poway for over ten years.
