Douglas E. Barnhart, Inc. completes Black Gold Clubhouse
for City of Yorba Linda
On
Thursday, October 29, 2001, the City of Yorba Linda held a
grand opening ceremony and an inaugural golf tournament for
the newly constructed Black Gold Clubhouse.
The new
structure measures 20,000 square feet and is made of load-bearing
masonry walls with a steel roof. Features include subterranean
golf cart parking storage, full service restaurant/bar, banquet
room, and pro shop. The project was constructed on the site
of an old oil field, so the installation of a gas mitigation
membrane underneath the slab with ventilation piping was essential.
This eliminated the accumulation of methane gas transmissions
into the building.
The project
was designed by John Bates and Associates of Laguna Hills.
Heinbuch Golf Construction represented the City as Construction
Managers for this contract. Environmental Golf constructed
the actual golf course.
Barnhart
team members included Henry Amigable, Senior Project Manager;
Tim Milam, Superintendent; Grace Modino, Site Office Support;
and Melanie Wolfe, Administration.
