Barnhart
completes Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church addition
The Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian
Church celebrated the dedication of its $5.1 million church
addition and remodel in June. California Assembly person Charlene
Zettel, San Diego City Councilman Brian Maienschein, church
parishioners and staff, architects Dominy & Associates,
and general contractor Barnhart, Inc. attended the event.
The church
addition and remodel was designed by Dominy & Associates
and the project was constructed by Barnhart, Inc. Barnhart
also constructed an addition ten years ago for the Church.
The addition
and remodel of the sanctuary totals 18,241 square feet of
steel structure and wood framed buildings. A second floor
and a pedestrian bridge were added to the existing administration
building, which totals 4,273 square feet. Construction occurred
while the administrative offices and a childcare facility
were operating full-time. The schedule was condensed so administrative
staff or services in the sanctuary were not displaced for
an extended period of time. Saturday and Sunday services were
held in the Church Fellowship Center during construction.
Barnhart completed by using 54-hour work weeks.
Harold
Dokmo managed the project for the church and Lew Dominy represented
Dominy & Associates. For Barnhart, Bill Sharp managed
the project and Dave Dever was the Superintendent.
