Barnhart, Inc. awarded contracts from two Southern California school districts

Barnhart to manage construction projects for Anaheim Union High School District and Redondo Beach Unified School District

Barnhart, Inc. was awarded construction management contracts from Anaheim Union High School District and Redondo Beach Unified School District to oversee construction school projects.

For Anaheim, Barnhart will oversee construction additions and renovations for Cypress High School and Oxford Academy. Architect Westberg + White is the designer of both projects. Funding for the projects is partially provided with the March 2002 passage of Measure Z, a $132 million general obligation bond. Cypress High School opened in 1978 and is slated to receive $13.8 million in renovations. The Oxford Academy is a college preparatory school that opened in 1998 for the District's seventh through twelfth graders. Enrollment is scheduled to expand to swell to 1000 students by 2003. The Oxford expansion project is estimated to be $8.2 million. The Anaheim Union High School District includes eight comprehensive high schools, one academy, eight junior high schools, six alternative education sites, and one special education facility.

For Redondo Beach Unified School District, Barnhart will manage renovations and additions for Washington Elementary School. The $3.2 million project is under design by Westberg + White Architects. Funding for this project is partially funded by the November 2000 passage of a $52 million general obligation bond. Washington Elementary, which has 600 students, opened in 1950. Washington is one of the eight elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, one adult education facility, and one independent study school governed by the Redondo Beach Unified School District.

Currently, Barnhart, Inc. is construction manager for seventeen school districts throughout California.
