Barnhart, Inc. awarded contracts from two
Southern California school districts
Barnhart
to manage construction projects for Anaheim Union High School
District and Redondo Beach Unified School District
Barnhart,
Inc. was awarded construction management contracts from Anaheim
Union High School District and Redondo Beach Unified School
District to oversee construction school projects.
For Anaheim,
Barnhart will oversee construction additions and renovations
for Cypress High School and Oxford Academy. Architect Westberg
+ White is the designer of both projects. Funding for the
projects is partially provided with the March 2002 passage
of Measure Z, a $132 million general obligation bond. Cypress
High School opened in 1978 and is slated to receive $13.8
million in renovations. The Oxford Academy is a college preparatory
school that opened in 1998 for the District's seventh through
twelfth graders. Enrollment is scheduled to expand to swell
to 1000 students by 2003. The Oxford expansion project is
estimated to be $8.2 million. The Anaheim Union High School
District includes eight comprehensive high schools, one academy,
eight junior high schools, six alternative education sites,
and one special education facility.
For Redondo
Beach Unified School District, Barnhart will manage renovations
and additions for Washington Elementary School. The $3.2 million
project is under design by Westberg + White Architects. Funding
for this project is partially funded by the November 2000
passage of a $52 million general obligation bond. Washington
Elementary, which has 600 students, opened in 1950. Washington
is one of the eight elementary schools, two middle schools,
two high schools, one adult education facility, and one independent
study school governed by the Redondo Beach Unified School
District.
Currently,
Barnhart, Inc. is construction manager for seventeen school
districts throughout California.
