Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. has completed construction of a renovation project and a pool, and has begun construction of a new dormitory for California State University, Monterey Bay.

The 22,400-square-foot renovation to a campus housing building and a 11,040-square-foot addition began in January. The $6.5 million renovation/addition was designed by architects Paul Davis Partnership of Monterey.

Barnhart also oversaw construction on a new $2.5 million outdoor swimming pool designed by Jones & Madhavan Architects and Planners.

Barnhart is currently managing a new 188,000-square-foot housing project on a 50-acre campus site. Phase one includes 732 living units, parking areas and support structures. The project will consist of single-occupancy residences for sophomores and upperclassmen. Upon final completion of the final phase the project will house over 2,400 students. The $39-million, three-building residence housing project was designed by Hornberger+Worstell of San Francisco and will be completed in August 2004.

Robin Katsuki represents the school for all projects. Barnhart representatives include Henry Amigable, Katie Timmerman and Rick Nevins.
