Douglas
E. Barnhart Inc. has
completed construction of a renovation project and a pool,
and has begun construction of a new dormitory for California
State University, Monterey Bay.
The 22,400-square-foot
renovation to a campus housing building and a 11,040-square-foot
addition began in January. The $6.5 million renovation/addition
was designed by architects Paul Davis Partnership
of Monterey.
Barnhart
also oversaw construction on a new $2.5 million outdoor swimming
pool designed by Jones & Madhavan Architects and
Planners.
Barnhart
is currently managing a new 188,000-square-foot housing project
on a 50-acre campus site. Phase one includes 732 living units,
parking areas and support structures. The project will consist
of single-occupancy residences for sophomores and upperclassmen.
Upon final completion of the final phase the project will
house over 2,400 students. The $39-million, three-building
residence housing project was designed by Hornberger+Worstell
of San Francisco and will be completed in August 2004.
Robin
Katsuki represents the school for all projects. Barnhart representatives
include Henry Amigable, Katie Timmerman and Rick Nevins.
